For the period detailed in the attached 39-page document, the USS Calvert underwent a significant overhaul (mid-January to early-May) and the ship and her crew then exercised as frequent training exercises in the vicinity of San Diego, Coronado Roads, and Camp Pendleton, mid-May to late-August in preparation for the August 1956 to April 1957 Far East Cruise.
