Rafe–This is Les Bahr, Gunner’s Mate, 4th Division. Remember the man-overboard dummy? Fair winds and following seas, friend.

Were navy personnel stationed in DaNang Billeted on the USSCALVERT in December 1965 and January 1966?

Herbkilmer@reagan.com Same question. Arrived DaNang Dec 65 on some sort of floating drydock ship with a load of swift and PT boats from Subic Bay. Worked out of the White Elephant and slept on a couple of diferent ships. Slept in troupe quarters with salt water showers. Records show I was transferred on to the USS Hitchiti in DaNang harbor on March 1, 1966. Records show leaving San Francisco Dec. 1965. No records between. Need to show boots on ground, medical issues.

    Hey Dan and others
Broussard EN2 in Boatshop. We were station ship in Da Nang Harbor from around Thanksgiving 65 to Late Jan or Feb 66. We shuffled a lot of cargo off those civilian vessels.
