Is there a journal or book of the USS Calvert and all of her missions? My Grandfather (Ambrose Wentland) was on the ship during WWII, he seen Okinawa, Hiroshima and/or Nagasaki. I would like to see the log of the ship’s time if available during its time afloat.

Hi Jed, thanks for visiting the Calvert website and for your question.

You can find 600 pages, across 11 documents, which provide WWII-era details for the Calvert and crew, here: https://www.usscalvert.com/history/apa32-1942-1947/

The August 24, 1945 to November 16, 1945 document covers the Calvert’s and crew’s participation in the occupation of Hiroshima, Japan.

I’ll also be in touch via email.

      Regards,

      Chris
